Recap: South Anchorage Wolverines vs. West Anchorage Eagles
On Saturday, The South Anchorage Wolverines faced the West Anchorage Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Anchorage took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Anchorage. South Anchorage's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
West Anchorage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Hampton led the charge by rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Ariel Sanchez also helped out with an impressive 101 receiving yards.
South Anchorage now has a losing record at 5-6. As for West Anchorage, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-2.
South Anchorage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Anchorage is also done with their season.
