Preview: Thompson Warriors vs. Stone Memorial Panthers
The Thompson Warriors are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Stone Memorial Panthers at 8:30 a.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Thompson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stone Memorial in their respective states (Thompson is ranked 14th in Alabama, while Stone Memorial is ranked 71st in Tennessee).
Last Monday, Thompson came up short against Pinson Valley and fell 55-47.
Meanwhile, Stone Memorial had to suffer through a rough 82-43 loss at the hands of Cookeville. Stone Memorial was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-22.
Despite the defeat, Stone Memorial got a solid performance out of Cade Capps, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Capps' 12th in a row with at least ten points.
Thompson's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Stone Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
