Avon Park entered their tilt with Clewiston on Friday with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. They walked away with a 66-56 win over the Clewiston Tigers. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Tigers are ranked 672nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Avon Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damari Cohen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Cohen has posted since back in December of 2023. Christopher Kelly was another key player, dropping a triple-double on 12 points, 13 rebounds, and ten blocks.

Avon Park's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Clewiston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Avon Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-53 victory against Venice on the 18th. As for Clewiston, they will challenge Glades Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
