Baseball Recap: DeLand Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for DeLand's offense. They came up short against the St. Johns Country Day Spartans on Friday, falling 10-0.

DeLand has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The win (which was St. Johns Country Day's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, DeLand will square off against Cardinal Newman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Johns Country Day, they will face off against Maclay at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Maclay: 3.2, St. Johns Country Day: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
