Softball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Serena Huskers

The Amboy Clippers will venture away from home to challenge the Serena Huskers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Amboy is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Polo hit Amboy with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Clippers fell 8-5 to the Marcos.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Serena's offense. They came up short against Morris on Thursday, falling 10-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Huskers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

Serena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RayElle Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Amboy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Serena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Everything went Amboy's way against Serena in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Amboy made off with a 14-1 win. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
