Basketball Recap: Westview Drops Season-High Score on Heritage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westview). They blew past the Heritage Patriots, posting a 62-19 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Westview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janissa Lehman out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lehman a new career-high in blocks (two). Olivia Bontrager was another key player, putting up nine points along with six assists and four steals.

Westview was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Heritage's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danica Fuller, who posted nine points, and Audra Bickel, who put up four points and six boards.

The victory got Westview back to even at 8-8. As for Heritage, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Westview will venture away from home to face off against Jimtown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westview is facing Jimtown at the right time seeing as Jimtown is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will take on Adams Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
