Recap: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Health Sciences Surgeons
Even though the Mountain Empire Redhawks have not done well against the Health Sciences Surgeons recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Mountain Empire walked away with a 58-51 victory over Health Sciences. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mountain Empire.
It was another big night for Corey Vann, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Sepulveda, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Mountain Empire pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Health Sciences, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Empire won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bayfront Charter at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Bayfront Charter is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Health Sciences, they will head out on the road to square off against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
