Basketball Recap: Sierra Linda Takes a Loss

Sierra Linda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 65-44 to the Copper Canyon Aztecs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-50 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Sierra Linda saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Johnell Wright posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Zaylen Glass, who put up nine points.

Sierra Linda's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Copper Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Sierra Linda has already played their next game, a 59-45 win against Glendale on the 4th. As for Copper Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-39 defeat against Washington on the 4th.
