Baseball Recap: South Cougars vs. Eisenhower Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Maize South, South was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Eisenhower Tigers a 3-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Kolton Herbel and Jaxon Anthony did most of the damage at the plate: Herbel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Anthony went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most runs Herbel has posted since back in May of 2024.
South's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Eisenhower, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.
