Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Lake Panthers vs. Naples Golden Eagles

The Cypress Lake Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Naples Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cypress Lake lost 14-2 to Charlotte on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Fightin' Tarpons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cypress Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luigi Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Naples had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Lakewood Ranch 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since May 2, 2024.

JAIDER DONADO looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on FABIAN VASQUEZ, who scored a run and stole Three bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of ETHAN KATZ, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Naples' record is now 5-8. As for Cypress Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Cypress Lake couldn't quite finish off Naples when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Cypress Lake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
