Baseball Recap: Intrinsic Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Senn, Intrinsic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Noble Street College Prep Golden Tigers. With that victory, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Joel Diaz made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Diaz was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacques Rodriguez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Elijah Alvarez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Intrinsic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Noble Street College Prep only posted an OBP of .214.

Intrinsic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Noble Street College Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Intrinsic will head out on the road to challenge Senn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Noble Street College Prep, they will be playing at home against ITW David Speer Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Tigers will need to watch out since the Pride have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
