The Vintage Crushers will take on the Acalanes Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vintage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Vintage had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Benicia last Tuesday. Vintage blew past Benicia 10-4. The Crushers not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
Miles Henry looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dario Freschi, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Blake Porter was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Vintage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Acalanes waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Colts a 1-0 shutout. The one-run effort marked the Dons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Acalanes also got a great performance from Austin McMannamon as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. McMannamon has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Acalanes' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was James Stadt, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Stadt's first of the season.
Acalanes pushed their record up to 4-1-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Vintage, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Acalanes' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Vintage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Acalanes, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Vintage's hitters?
Vintage might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Acalanes in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Vintage have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
