Liberty barely beat Poly the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 13-3 win on Thursday. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Liberty got a great performance from Janessa Guigliano as she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Jolie Tompkins was incredible, firing off two home runs and one double while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Yasmine Lopez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poly only posted an OBP of .273.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Poly, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty will challenge rival Orange Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Poly is set to take on their familiar foe Hemet at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3, the Bulldogs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
