Softball Recap: Lake Ridge Wins Going Away Against Eagle Mountain

Lake Ridge saw some tournament action on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Eagle Mountain Knights with a sharp 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly ten runs.

Lailah Murray made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Murray was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylee Gardner was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Julia Harper, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Lake Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Eagle Mountain now has a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Lake Ridge will face off against Midway at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eagle Mountain, they have already played their next contest, a 20-0 defeat against Southlake Carroll on the 27th.
