Baseball Recap: Tates Creek Wins Going Away Against Breathitt County

Tates Creek got themselves on the board against Breathitt County on Friday, but Breathitt County never followed suit. They blew past the Bobcats 6-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commodores.

Carter Gilliam looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Jackson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DJ Carter, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tates Creek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Breathitt County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
