After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenwood, Leflore County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Coahoma County Red Panthers by a score of 22-12.

Leflore County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Demarius Dunham led the charge by rushing for 132 yards and one score while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Eric Cooper was in the mix as well, providing the Tigers with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leflore County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Leflore County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Javion Young, Jeremy Gilbert, and Curtis Young picked up one apiece.

The win got Leflore County back to even at 3-3. As for Coahoma County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leflore County will host Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coahoma County, they will be playing at home against North Panola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Panthers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
