Clover Hill is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Richmond High School for the Arts an 18-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Clover Hill Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Richmond High School for the Arts Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Clover Hill is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Powhatan on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cavaliers were dealt a 35-8 defeat at the hands of the Indians. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Clover Hill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Terrell Lewis Jr picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Richmond High School for the Arts and Manchester, and Manchester kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs had to suffer through a 61-0 loss at the hands of the Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Lancers are ranked seventh).

Richmond High School for the Arts' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Clover Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Clover Hill against Richmond High School for the Arts when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 39-6 victory.
