Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mt. Pleasant had taken Collinwood down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers came up short against the Collinwood Trojans, falling 15-9. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Jackson Lindsey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Sheldon Christy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

With the loss, Mt. Pleasant broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Collinwood, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Mt. Pleasant didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 win against Cornersville on the 17th. As for Collinwood, they have also already played their next game, a 17-9 defeat against Rogers on the 17th.
