Football Recap: Estacado Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Estacado and Brock squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Estacado had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 65-18. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Eagles are ranked 25th).

When it comes to explaining why Estacado lost, don't look at Cedric Ross. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also picked up 62 receiving yards and one TD. Ross also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes.

Bryer Mcdonald produced another solid effort rushing for 102 yards and five touchdowns for Brock. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Mcdonald a new career-high. Colt Matlock was another major influence, as he rushed for 13 yards and ran in a TD.

Estacado's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Brock, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Estacado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brock, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-3 victory against Seminole on the 28th.
