Preview: Darby Tigers vs. Victor Pirates
Darby has been on the road for seven straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Victor Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Darby suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 70-25 defeat at the hands of Arlee. While losing is never fun, Darby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Arlee is ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Victor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-18 loss at the hands of Lincoln. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Victor has scored all season.
Darby's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Victor, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Darby against Victor in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 60-32 victory. Does Darby have another victory up their sleeve, or will Victor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
