Volleyball Recap: Antioch Panthers vs. Deer Valley Wolverines

Antioch had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-16 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Deer Valley Wolverines by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

As for Deer Valley, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 13th.

Deer Valley found their leader in sophomore Hazel Toliao, who had 15 digs and eight aces. Those eight aces set a new season-high mark for Toliao. Calixte Tungol also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Antioch will face off against rival Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Deer Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Freedom at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
