Softball Recap: Vero Beach Indians vs. Centennial Eagles

Vero Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centennial Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Vero Beach of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

Gabrielle Espich put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (she also only allowed one walk). Espich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Espich was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
