Baseball Game Preview: Riverton Parke Panthers vs. Seeger Patriots

Riverton Parke had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Paris on Wednesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Panthers have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jonah Hopkins made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eli Roberts was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Riverton Parke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Seeger was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to Rossville. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Riverton Parke's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Seeger, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Riverton Parke suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Seeger when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
