Preview: Aurora Central Trojans vs. Adams City Eagles
The Aurora Central Trojans and the Adams City Eagles will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Aurora Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by George Washington 82-42. It was the first time this season that Aurora Central let down their fans at home.
Camron Crisp put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Rumbek Augustino, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Adams City's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The contest between Adams City and Denver North wasn't particularly close, with Adams City falling 70-53. Adams City has struggled against Denver North recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Aurora Central's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6. As for Adams City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Aurora Central came up short against Adams City when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 73-66. Thankfully for Aurora Central, Deangleo Lee (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
