Basketball Recap: Lowellville Takes a Loss

Lowellville suffered their biggest loss since February 28, 2024 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of the Mineral Ridge Rams. The loss continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

Ava Hulett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mineral Ridge, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hulett has scored at least a third of Mineral Ridge's points. Lily Merolillo was another key player, going 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lowellville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Mineral Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Lowellville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-28 win against Memorial on the 31st. Mineral Ridge has also already played their next contest, a 60-27 victory against Jackson-Milton on the 30th.
