Softball Recap: Godwin Gets the Win

Godwin won the last time they faced Prince George and things went their way on Monday too. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 win over the Royals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Lila Palmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 14 hits.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie White was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelynn Collins, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Godwin's record is now 8-4. As for Prince George, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Godwin and Prince George should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Eagles will face off against Hermitage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (86 vs. 227). Meanwhile, Prince George (ranked 128th) will meet Petersburg (ranked 336th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
