Softball Recap: Houston Beats Ava for Their Third Straight Victory

Houston had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Ava on Thursday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Bears. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Houston's third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ava, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston will challenge Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ava, they will face off against Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
