Sandusky had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Danbury Lakers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Streaks have posted since April 6, 2024.

Kaylee Summers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Amari Prentice was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Maijon Wiley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Danbury fell to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandusky will venture away from home to face off against Huron at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Danbury, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Emmanuel Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
