Volleyball Game Preview: Otsego Knights vs. Willard Crimson Flashes

The Otsego Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Willard Crimson Flashes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Otsego took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Liberty-Benton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights won by a set and slipped past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since September 8th.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-99) Otsego actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 12-25, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13.

Otsego found their leader in sophomore Sophia Borer, who had 16 digs.

Meanwhile, Willard had already won 13 in a row and they went ahead and made it 14 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Chargers as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Willard took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-6, 25-14.

Willard's win bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Otsego, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
