Volleyball Recap: Culver Community Takes a Loss

Culver Community came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bremen Lions, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 25-20.

Hayden Lute paced Culver Community's offense, picking up ten kills. Lute got some help from Sophie Grossman-Norris and her ten assists. Lute and Grossman-Norris were also some pesky defenders, as each blocked two attacks.

The defeat snapped Culver Community's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 17-12 record. As for Bremen, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Culver Community and Bremen are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Cavaliers will take on Triton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremen, after both having extra time off, they and LaVille will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
