Basketball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

Milan lost against South Dearborn back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Milan Indians were outmatched by the South Dearborn Knights and fell 83-52. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Knights are ranked 135th).

South Dearborn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scout Gray led the charge by going 7-for-16 en route to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Ballart, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 15 points and eight rebounds.

Milan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11. As for South Dearborn, their record is now 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milan will take on Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hauser will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Milan surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Dearborn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrenceburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Dearborn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Lawrenceburg likes a good challenge.
