Preview: Vienna Eagles vs. California Pintos
The Vienna Eagles will be playing at home against the California Pintos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vienna will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Even though Vienna has not done well against St. Elizabeth recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Vienna walked away with a 52-43 victory over St. Elizabeth.
California aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to three. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over Owensville. Given California's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Owensville is ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vienna has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for California, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Vienna strolled past California in their previous meeting back in November of 2020 by a score of 52-33. Will Vienna repeat their success, or does California have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
