Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

Jay saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against the Del Rio Rams, falling 79-59. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Jay lost, don't look at Jayden Casiano. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and five steals. The Mustangs are 2-1 when Casiano posts three or more steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Robert Williams was another key player, shooting 64% from the field en route to 15 points.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Del Rio, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Jay will face off against Sotomayor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Del Rio, they will square off against Southwest at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
