Basketball Game Preview: Marvin Ridge Mavericks vs. Myers Park Mustangs + How To Watch

The Marvin Ridge Mavericks will take on the Myers Park Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marvin Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Myers Park likes a good challenge.

While Marvin Ridge didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed past Great Falls to the tune of 59-22 on Saturday. The 59-point effort marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Marvin Ridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Fleet Payne, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 17 points, and DJ Smith, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and three steals. Those 11 points gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry Smith, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Myers Park beat Laney 72-65 on Saturday.

The win got Myers Park back to even at 3-3. As for Marvin Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Marvin Ridge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Myers Park when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with an 85-81 win.
