Anaheim is 9-1 against Savanna since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Colonists will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rebels at 3:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Anaheim came up short against Valencia and fell 17-13. The Colonists have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Brooke Chavez led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamila Ramirez, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Savanna made easy work of Western on Wednesday and carried off an 11-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won nine in a row.
Kenadee Ellis was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kimberly Jimenez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Savanna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Anaheim's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Savanna, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.
Savanna's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anaheim has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. It's a different story for Savanna, though, as they've only averaged .319. Will they be able to contain Anaheim's hitters?
