Football Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs
Lone Peak gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-14 win. The Knights pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.
Lone Peak got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cruz Christensen out in front who threw for 195 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. Jaron Pula was another key receiver, picking up 64 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Lone Peak was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Lone Peak wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 34-21 win against Orem on the 22nd. As for Crimson Cliffs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-24 victory against Provo on the 22nd.
