Basketball Game Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Argonaut Mustangs

Amador hasn't had much luck against Argonaut recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Amador Buffaloes will look to defend their home court against the Argonaut Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Amador lost to El Dorado on the road by a 93-76 margin. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Argonaut entered their tilt with Rosemont on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 65-57 win over the Wolverines. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Wolverines are ranked 900th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amador's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Argonaut, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Amador was dealt a bruising 78-37 loss at the hands of Argonaut when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Amador was down 46-15.
