Baseball Recap: Oologah Takes a Loss

If Oologah was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Pryor last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Miami Wardogs by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Not much got past Landon Roach, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Miami off the board. Roach has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Uriah Hooks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Asher Streeter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Oologah's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Coming up, Oologah will look to defend their home field on Monday against Inola at 5:00 p.m. As for Miami, they will head out on the road to challenge Dewey at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wardogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldoggers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
