In what's become a running theme this season, Thales Academy Apex gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Friendship Christian 57-11 at home. Given Thales Academy Apex's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Friendship Christian is ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thales Academy Apex relied on the efforts of Kate Sproul, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals, and Anna Maass, who scored 31 points along with seven steals. Maass hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Sproul, who scored four points along with two steals.
Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past St. Thomas More Academy with a 36-31 victory on Tuesday.
Thales Academy Apex's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.
