Baseball Recap: Cathedral Prep Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cathedral Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the LaSalle Academy Cardinals by a score of 9-5 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Adrian Caban made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Caban was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Michael Franco was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Cathedral Prep is undefeated when Franco posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Caraballo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Cathedral Prep now has a winning record of 8-7. As for LaSalle Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Cathedral Prep has already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Christ the King on the 13th. As for LaSalle Academy, they will welcome Bishop Loughlin at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
