Basketball Game Preview: New Covenant Christian Flames vs. Harrisburg Christian

The New Covenant Christian Flames are taking a road trip to square off against Harrisburg Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Covenant Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

New Covenant Christian is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since December 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over West Shore Christian Academy.

New Covenant Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Hart, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Hart is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Talan VanderPloog, who posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, Harrisburg Christian came up short against Mount Calvary Christian on Thursday and fell 58-47.

New Covenant Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Harrisburg Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8.

New Covenant Christian suffered a grim 58-36 defeat to Harrisburg Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can New Covenant Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
