Volleyball Recap: Craven Andaya's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainfield Central over Plainfield North

Plainfield Central lost against Plainfield North back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Plainfield Central sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-23.

Plainfield Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Craven Andaya, who had 12 digs and two assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Trevino, who had 15 assists and seven digs.

Plainfield North was led to victory by Charlie Hurst and Sean Jansen. Hurst had 11 digs and two assists, while Jansen had seven digs and one assist. Those 11 digs gave Hurst a new career-high. Kyle Eydenberg also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Plainfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-23. As for Plainfield North, they pushed their record up to 15-17 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Plainfield Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Oswego East on the 20th. As for Plainfield North, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Joliet Central on the 20th.
