Basketball Game Preview: Poland Knights vs. Old Orchard Beach Seagulls

The Poland Knights will challenge the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Poland is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mountain Valley just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 36-33. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-22, which was the final score in Old Orchard Beach's tilt against Winthrop on Tuesday. The Seagulls haven't had much luck with the Ramblers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Old Orchard Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Poland, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2.

Poland skirted past Old Orchard Beach 57-54 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Poland repeat their success, or does Old Orchard Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
