Soccer Game Preview: Olathe East vs. Shawnee Mission West

The Olathe East Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Shawnee Mission West Vikings on Thursday. Olathe East will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Olathe East and Olathe Northwest faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Ravens 2-1. The game was the first time Olathe East have beaten Olathe Northwest on their pitch since May 8, 2015.

Meanwhile, Shawnee Mission West sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Lawrence on Tuesday. Shawnee Mission West haven't had any issues with Lawrence recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The win got Olathe East back to even at 5-5. As for Shawnee Mission West, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-1.

Olathe East beat Shawnee Mission West 5-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
