Football Game Preview: North Platte Panthers vs. Plattsburg Tigers

The North Platte Panthers will face off against the Plattsburg Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plattsburg took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on North Platte, who comes in off a win.

If Plattsburg heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when North Platte took over last week. The Panthers strolled past Penney with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-20. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

It was another big night for Dylan Armstrong, who rushed for 238 yards and four scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Platte was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 385 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

North Platte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hudson Yarc.

Meanwhile, Plattsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 62-14 loss at the hands of West Platte.

Plattsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for North Platte, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for North Platte against Plattsburg in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, as the squad secured a 45-6 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
