No. 1 Mater Dei wraps up non-league schedule on the East Coast against national power St. Frances Academy.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana), the No. 1 team in the state and nation, is back in action Friday as the Monarchs wrap up their non-league schedule with a trip to St. Frances Academy (Baltimore).

Mater Dei enters 4-0 after handling Centennial (Corona), Bingham (South Jordan, Utah), Creekside (Fairburn, Ga.) and Kahuku (Hawaii). The game against St. Frances lost a bit of its luster after the Panthers dropped their first four games of a brutal schedule that included three teams in the MaxPreps Top 25.

The Monarchs, behind quarterback Elijah Brown, know they can't afford a let down against a St. Frances Academy team that had enough talent to warrant a top 10 national ranking in the preseason.

State No. 2 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) takes on Arizona foe Liberty (Peoria, Ariz.), which enters 4-0 and ranked No. 16 nationally. The Huskies are led by talented quarterback Husan Longstreet.

One other intriguing out-of-state matchup is Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) vs.  No. 3 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth). The Trailblazers added their second win against a Trinity League opponent with a 40-6 victory against Orange Lutheran (Orange) last week. Both teams are just outside of the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings.
