Baseball Recap: Gaston Christian Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Gaston Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Providence Day Chargers on Thursday as the Gaston Christian Eagles made off with an 11-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Gaston Christian got a great performance from Cooper Summerlin as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave Summerlin a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Rowe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Meridian Leffew was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
