The Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Nixon, falling 90-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mission Veterans Memorial in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Nixon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Vela, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Escobar, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
