Basketball Recap: Bogalusa Comes Up Short

Bogalusa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Amite Warriors, falling 67-14. The Lumberjacks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-4.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amite to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Toefield, who went 9-for-15 on her way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. What's more, Toefield also posted a 60% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Curtissiyah Jenkins, who went 8-for-15 en route to 21 points and four steals.

Bogalusa's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Amite, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.

As of now, neither Bogalusa nor Amite have any future games scheduled.
