Football Recap: Dracut Takes a Loss

If Dracut was riding high fresh off their 27-6 takedown of Dover-Sherborn last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Middies had to suffer through a 50-21 loss at the hands of the Medfield Warriors. The Middies lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 12-7 score last time.

Dracut lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lyric Deleon, who threw for 150 yards and two TDs.

Brady McCormack was nothing short of spectacular for Medfield: he rushed for 233 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries.

Dracut's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Medfield, their record is now 2-0.

Dracut will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chelmsford at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Medfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-12 win against Hopkinton on the 19th.
